How to Setup PureVPN Manually on Linux / Ubuntu 10 OpenVPN? (Older Version)

Things to Consider:

Before you begin, please make sure that:

  • You have a working internet connection
  • Linux/Ubuntu Device.
  • A Premium PureVPN account (if you haven’t bought it yet, click here to buy)

Please follow below steps to configure OpenVPN manually on Linux/Ubuntu (Older Version) :

1 Go to Application then Accessories, scroll down the menu and select Terminal.

2 Next screen will be Installation in process.

3 Press “Y” and hit enter.

4 Download the OpenVPN Files from here and extract them.

5 Click on Network Connection Icon… , Select  Configure VPN from “VPN Connection”

6 Select VPN tab and click on the “Import” option on “Network Connection”.

7 “Select File to Import” and select “Chicago-iL.ovpn” and hit “Open”.

8 Enter the details:

  • Gateway: il-ovpn.purevpn.net
  • Type: Select Password and enter your PureVPN User Name and Password
  • CA Certificate: Click on folder to import Ca.crt
    After entering the details click on “Apply”
    ( Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username. )

 

9 Close the Network Connections Windows

10 Click on Network Connection Icon… , select ChicagoIL from VPN Connections

11 After authorizing the Connection, you will be connected to PureVPN Openvpn on your Ubuntu Device.
