How to Setup PPTP on Kali Linux

Are you having a hard time configuring PureVPN PPTP set up on Kali Linux? Let us simplify the process for you. Just follow this guide and set up PureVPN on your Linux with a few clicks.

Things to Consider:

  1. You have a working internet connection
  2. Kali Linux Supported Device.
  3. A Premium PureVPN account (If you haven’t bought yet click 👉here to buy)
Find your VPN credentials for manual configuration.

To find your VPN credentials log into the PureVPN members area. Click 👉 here to visit member area.

  • Login to the Member area using your PureVPN registered email address and password.
  • From manage account section, go to the Subscriptions tab.
  • On Subscription tab scroll down to be able to view your VPN credentials
  • You will be able to see and copy your VPN credentials.
  • Note down your PureVPN username and click the Eye icon to make your password visible and use it in the manual configuration.
How to connect PureVPN manually on Kali Linux.
  • Open Terminal.

  • Install required package by entering the commands mentioned below
1. apt-get update
2. apt-get install network-manager-pptp-gnome
Install required package by entering the commands mentioned below  apt-get update  apt-get install network-manager-pptp-gnome
  • Open Wired Settings (Network settings)
Open “Wired Settings” (Network settings)
  • Click + icon to create a new connection
Click “+” icon to create a new connection
  • Insert the following details:
  • Select Point-to-point Tunneling protocol (PPTP)
  • Enter PureVPN PPTP in Name field,
  • Insert the desired server: Please refer to the server address shared in the above note.
    1. Germany: de1.pointtoserver.com
    2. Netherlands: nl1.pointtoserver.com
    3. United Kingdom: ukl1.pointtoserver.com
    4. United States: usil1.pointtoserver.com
    5. United States: ustx1.pointtoserver.com
    6. United States: usca1.pointtoserver.com
    7. United States: usfl1.pointtoserver.com
    8. United States: usny1.pointtoserver.com
    9. United States: uswdc1.pointtoserver.com
    10. Australia: au-sd1.pointtoserver.com
  • Enter your PureVPN credentials. Here is how you can 👉find your VPN credentials.
  • Click Advanced
Click “Advanced”
  • Check Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE) and click Ok
Check “Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE)” and click “Ok”
  • Click Add
Click “Add”
  • Open Network Connections then VPN Off, click connect
 Open “Network Connections” then “VPN Off”, click “connect”
  • If you’re asked for authentication again, enter your PureVPN Password.
If you’re asked for authentication again, enter your PureVPN Password.
  • Wait for PureVPN to establish your connection.
  • You are now connected!
You are now connected!
  • If you wish to change the server address, do the following.
    1. Go to Network Connections
    2. Edit PureVPN PPTP
    3. Change Gateway field with a new server address
    4. Click Apply
