PPTP Configuration Guide for Android | PureVPN

NOTE
You are recommended to use the PureVPN Android app, which is compatible with Android 8.0 and above and can be downloaded from Google Play. Click ๐Ÿ‘‰here to download the app. If you are running an older operating system, you might experience an incompatibility error and will have to manually configure PPTP connection settings instead.

Things to Consider:

  1. You have a working internet connection
  2. An android device (Smartphone, Tablet, etc.)
  3. A Premium PureVPN account (if you havenโ€™t bought yet click ๐Ÿ‘‰ here to buy)

The following is the PPTP configuration guide for Android devices. If you wish to configure PPTP protocol on your Android device, all you need to do is to follow the steps written below

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Connection
  • Tap More connection settings.
  • Tap VPN
  • Tap Three vertical dots
  • Tap Add VPN profile
  • Insert the following:
  • Insert Name: PPTP.
  • Type: Select PPTP from the drop-down menu.
  • Insert your desired server address in Server Address.
    1. Australia: au-sd1.pointtoserver.com
    2. Germany: de1.pointtoserver.com
    3. Netherlands: nl1.pointtoserver.com
    4. United Kingdom: ukl1.pointtoserver.com
    5. United States: usil1.pointtoserver.com
    6. United States: ustx1.pointtoserver.com
    7. United States: usca1.pointtoserver.com
    8. United States: usfl1.pointtoserver.com
    9. United States: usny1.pointtoserver.com
    10. United States: uswdc1.pointtoserver.com
  • Uncheck PPP encryption (MPPE).
  • Enter your PureVPN credentials. Here is a link you can follow to find ๐Ÿ‘‰ find your VPN credentials.
  • Tap on Save.
  • Tap PPTP to connect.
  • You are now Connected

    Hi Kathryn,

    I apologies for the inconvenience. Kindly confirm me if you are trying to use dedicated on multiple devices at a same time. If this is the case then you will not be able to obtain dedicated IP as dedicated IP is a unique IP and can be connected on a single device at a time. However, you can connect other 4 devices with shared IPs.

    I have the Purevpn on my cell phone. I did it manually after being told that is how to get my static Ip on. I still see no change in the IP. It is not what I purchased .. it is ok on computer but not the same one on my cell phone. I went into settings in cell phone and did according to instructions
