How to Setup PureVPN Manually on Windows 7 (PPTP) ?

Looking to setup PPTP on Windows 7? Well here is an easy to follow guide that will help you get started with manual PPTP connection on Windows 7.

Things to Consider:

  • You have a working internet connection
  • Windows Supported Device.
  • A Premium PureVPN account (If you haven’t bought yet click 👉here to buy)
Find your VPN credentials for manual configuration.

To find your VPN credentials log into the PureVPN member area. Click 👉 here to visit member area.

  • Login to the Member area using your PureVPN registered email address and password.
  • On subscriptions tab scroll down to be able to view your VPN credentials.
  • You will be able to see and copy your VPN credentials.
  • Note down your PureVPN username and click on Eye icon to make your password visible and use it in the manual configuration.
How to connect PureVPN manually on Windows 7.
  • Right-click Lan/ Wifi icon from System tray and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
Right-click on "Lan / Wifi icon” from System tray and select "Open Network and Sharing Center"
  • Click Set up a new connection or network.
Click on "Set up a new connection or network"
  • Select Connect to a workplace and click Next.
Select "Connect to workplace" and click Next
  • Select Use my internet connection (VPN).
 Select "Use my Internet connection (VPN)"

Insert the following info:

  • Enter the server address. You can use one of the servers mentioned below 👇
    1. Germany: de1.pointtoserver.com
    2. Netherlands: nl1.pointtoserver.com
    3. United Kingdom: ukl1.pointtoserver.com
    4. United States: usil1.pointtoserver.com
    5. United States: ustx1.pointtoserver.com
    6. United States: usca1.pointtoserver.com
    7. United States: usfl1.pointtoserver.com
    8. United States: usny1.pointtoserver.com
    9. United States: uswdc1.pointtoserver.com
  • Insert destination name as PureVPN PPTP.
  • Select Allow other people to use this connection.
  • Select Don’t connect now, just set it up so I can connect later and click Next.
Insert the desired server: Please refer to the server address shared in the above note. Insert PureVPN PPTP or PureVPN US etc as the Destination name Click on “Allow other people to use this connection“ Select "Don't connect now, Just set it up so I can connect later" and click "Next"
  • Enter your PureVPN credentials. Here is how you can find your 👉VPN credentials.
  • Mark check on Remember this password and hit Create.
Tick "Remember this password" and hit "Create"
  • Click Close.
 Click on "Close"
  • Click Change adapter settings.
Click on "Change adapter settings"
  • Right click newly created VPN connection and go to Properties.
Right click on newly created VPN connection and go to "Properties"
  • Click Security tab and select Point to Point Tunneling Protocol.
Click on Security tab and select "Point to Point Tunneling protocol (PPTP)"
  • Click Required encryption from Data encryption drop-down menu.
Select "Required encryption" from "Data encryption" drop down menu
  • Click Networking Tab.
  • Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/ IPV6) and File and printer sharing for microsoft network then click OK.
Click on “Networking” tab Uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" then click "OK"
  • Right click VPN connection and click Connect or simply double click VPN connection.
Right click on VPN connection and click "Connect" or simply double click on VPN Connection
  • Tick Save this username and password for the following users and select Me only or anyone who uses this computer.
  • Insert VPN password again.
  • Click Connect.
Tick "Save this username and password for the following users and select "Me only" or "Anyone who uses this computer" Insert password again provided by PureVPN Click on "Connect"
  • VPN connection will be established after username and password verfication.

  • You are now Connected.
You are connected now.
  • Select network type as Public.
Select Network Type as Public
  • Click Close
Click on close and enjoy the Freedom!

    Hi I set my win7 accordig to this page. When I try connect, I get Error 807. I’m using win 7 ultimate 64bit, modem/router NetComm N300 NF7 WiFi Gigabit Router.
    I’m in Australia and I’m trying to connect to one of the PureVPN servers e.g. au4.purevpn.net.
    Please help.
