    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out. It seems you are using iOS 10 which no longer offers PPTP option. You may connect with other protocols.

Hope this answers your query, feel free to comment if you have further questions!

Hi, I don’t see PPTP as an option on my Iphone 5s, only IKEv2, IPSec and L2TP.

  3. PureVPN Team says:

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us. It is a good question, and I would like to inform you that different protocols have different encryption level, if you need basic encryption then PPTP is ok but if you are looking for more encryption then you have the choice of other protocols. To learn more about different protocols, I would request you to read this article https://support.purevpn.com/vpn-protocol-strength-weakness

Feel free to contact us if you have further question!

After setting my iPhone 6 plus V9.1 with the above settings and click “Done” I get the warning that “VPN Using PPTP May Not Be Secure. When using PPTP, your password and any data sent or received over this connection may be read by your Internet provider” Should I use a different protocol? It seems that it is counter to what is intended? Could you explain the implication of this message? thank you.
