I tried that link and the app still freezes. I set it up manually through system preferences. But would rather have been able to choose better server for downloading/streaming on the fly. Not be locked to one server.

      • PureVPN Team says:

Have you tried switching protocols? If not then please go ahead do it.

The PureVPN App for Mac freezes overtime just seconds after opening, I am running Mac OSX 10.11.6. I could set it up manually however would rather use the app for quicker switching.

  5. PureVPN Team says:

Thanks for reaching out. Mac Sierra is not supporting ‘PPTP’ anymore so you may not be able to connect ‘VPN’ with PPTP. However, you can freely connect using other protocols.

Hope this answers your query, let us know if you have further questions!

I just downloaded the latest version and I get this error message when trying to open the app for the first time – “PureVPN” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed. How can I fix this?

  16. Peter van der Meer says:

I just downloaded the latest version (1.99.8) and it is like taking 2 steps back. I am wondering if this is indeed the latest version.
Every time I connect I have to type in the password!
    The taskbar Icon has gone!
It seems I cannot add favorites anymore!
    What is going on?

*EDIT – Already found the issue. The top left (first) download button is for an older version of OSX. I guess I expected the download buttons to be ordered instead of random.

  17. John Raymond Peterson says:

I just reinstalled PureVPN from dmg file I was provided and I notice I’m no loger requested the PureVPN password I was given when I purchased it. Is that normal? I only get a request for admin password to install the helper tool I think.

    • PureVPN Team says:

      Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Yes, it is possible.

Let us know if you have further questions!

  18. Andrew says:

You can do this manually by adding and removing routes from the command line. You can also automate this, if using PPP for your VPN, by creating a script /etc/ppp/ip-up and doing the route changes from in there.

  19. PureVPN Team says:

    Hi,

I am sorry for the inconvenience. We are working on helper tool and it would be resolved in next release.

  25. max says:

Hello, is there any way to prevent the confirmation pop-up before we quit the app on Mac ? It prevents the computer to shut down every time. Thanks

    • PureVPN Team says:

      Hi Max,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We are working on it and very soon it will be fixed then you will not see any pop-up.

Feel free to contact us if you have further question/suggestion!

  26. Niels says:

Sorry, but the new Mac App is a lot worse than the old one concerning usability:
    1) At every startup Mac wants confirmation for the Helper App
    2) For Mac shutdown I also need to confirm the closure of App
    3) The App shouldn’t show in the Dock all the time
    4) I want to quickly control connect and disconnect via Menu Bar/Sys Tray Icon as before
So I need a lot more clicks than before to have the same effect.

  27. mediabrainwash says:

I just bought this and It seems I am not allowed to use it. I have no code to get into the software. I read that I should receive an email that would give me the code but have not. help. I paid and downloaded for Mac. Click on the VPN icon, opens correctly. Hit Connect. Works. Gives me the little dialogue box that shows Duration, Your IP, and Location. Ok now what? How do I get to the actual content I want to watch (Australian Open)?

  30. Guest10 says:

PureVPN client (5.1.1) still asks every time to enter Macbook Admin password to install “Helper Applicaiton” when it starts. Why does it have to ask it every single time? Other Mac apps just asks very first time and they never bother me enter the password to install their helper application during subsequent startup of the app. It is annoying.

    • PureVPN Team says:

      Hi,

I am sorry for the inconvenience. Do not worry we are working on it soon we will fix it and then you will not have to install “Helper Application” we really apologies for this.

      Thanks for being patient.

Am i right to think that the Pure VPN Mac software can only connect me using PPTP or L2TP protocols? If i’p prefer Ikev2 i have to do it manually?

    • PureVPN Team says:

      Hi Vincent,

You are right, for now PureVPN Mac software only support PPTP and L2TP, if you want to use other protocols, you will need to do it manually.

Mac Beta version. Easy to use and friendly.

    Wish list :

    a. A kill/disconnect button on the Mac’s system tray or the app.
    b. Auto check for update option
    c. The up & down load bandwidth bar + data volume chart.
    d. Option to select the “fastest server” to selected countries, and save it.
e.g. San Francisco is nearer than NYC for me, by air miles, but not necessary by latency or routing which are known only to the sysop.

    Thanks
