How to Setup PureVPN Manually on Mac? (L2TP– Protocol)

The following tutorial will help you learn how to set up PureVPN manually on Mac devices.
Note: If you are running El Capitan, you can manually set up PureVPN on it for a safer and limitless browsing experience. If you are not sure how to do so, here is how you can make it possible:
Things to Consider:
Before you begin, please make sure that:
- You have a working internet connection
- Mac Supported Device.
- A Premium PureVPN account (If you haven’t bought yet click here to buy)
- Login to the PureVPN member area
- Once logged in go to Account & Billing section.
- On Account and Billing section click on drop-down icon
- Click on Show/Update VPN password
- Note down your PureVPN username and click on Eye icon to make your password visible and use it in the manual configuration.
1 Click the Apple icon, and then select System Preferences.
2 Within System Preferences, click the Network icon.
3 To create a new connection, click the + button.
4 Click the Interface Menu.
5 Enter the following information in the box that appears:
- Under the Interface menu, select VPN
- Under the VPN Type menu, select L2TP
- Service Name needs to be changed to PureVPN (L2TP), after which click Create.
6 In the new windows that appears, enter the following information:
- Insert the desired server: Please refer to the server address shared in the above note.
- In Account Name, enter VPN Username as provided beforehand.
- Tick Show VPN Status in Menu Bar.
7 In the Authentication Settings window, enter the following information:
- In the Password box, enter the VPN password as provided beforehand.
- In the Shared Secret box, enter 12345678 and then click OK.
8 Click the Advanced button
9 Tick Send All Traffic Over VPN Connection, and then click OK.
10 Click the Apply button to finalize new settings.
11 Click the Connect button.
12 Feel free to browse the internet with complete freedom, without any hassles whatsoever.
Note: For those looking for enhanced security, you can disable IPv6 by following the instructions provided here.
