By retesting the VPN service with different servers and protocols, you can rule out any potential problems with the firewall. If the VPN service works without any issues, then you know that the firewall is likely the issue and a reconfiguration or replacement will be the appropriate fix.

  • Click the Apple icon on the top left of your desktop, then select the System Preferences.
  • Select the Security & Privacy icon
  • On the Firewall tab, click the Lock icon on the bottom left to enable changes.
  • You will be asked for your MacOS X user account password. Enter it to continue.
  • Now click the Turn Off Firewall button to disable your computer’s firewall.

That’s all, the internal firewall of Mac OS X is now disabled.
