  16. PureVPN Team says:

  17. Ronster says:

I bought/subscribed thinking I could configure OpenVpn on my (one of the latest and greatest) Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 tri-band 1gb router.

I setup PureVPN on one Android device and felt happy enough to expand using to all devices. Best way in past (& my current setup with UnblockUS) was on the router itself and mobile devices separately. Reason for making a change was for an OpenVpn solution.

Why are you excluding this first and if there is no solution, can I get a refund? Bought just a few days ago.

  18. PureVPN Team says:

As you know Ben, PureVPN works on PPTP and OpenVPN protocols, if your Router does not support these protocols then I am afraid you will need to use a different Router, you can use any of the above mentioned Routers.

Let us know if we can help you with anything else!

  19. PureVPN Team says:

  42. PureVPN Team says:

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us. If you set up PureVPN on your router then you can surely use more than one device. Even if you are not connected with router, you are still allowed to login in 5 devices simultaneously and If you are connected to router with dedicated IP then you will get static IP on other devices as well.

If you still have any question or confusion feel free to contact us.

  43. PureVPN Team says:

  44. Peter Amiatu says:

I’ve got a Netgear D6300 modem router. Is this model compatible?

  45. Ziah Jolley says:

Here is a question I don’t quite understand. If I am using your VPN, and I’ve got my router setup, then why can’t I use more than one device? I need to be able to use my PC and smartphone at the same time on the static IP address.

  46. Jeff says:

Disappointed that enterprise gear does not appear supported – no Cisco on the list (and support informed us that Cisco RV130 branch office device not supported). Some environments only have Cisco (or HP, or similar) gear for their branch offices, and many enterprise devices don’t support dynamic IP for PPTP (and not many enterprises of a decent size are going to allow consumer devices like DD-WRT or TP-Link in their environments, understandably).

  47. PureVPN Team says:

    Hi Harsha,

Thanks for your suggestion. ubiquiti edge x is a ISP modem, which means that it can not dial VPN as it already dials the PPoE connection. So, technically it is not possible to configure VPN on any ISP modem.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!

  48. harsha says:

ubiquiti edge x router have become more affordable these are enterprise
class routers & softwaer at a consumer level price point . and many
of my tech savy / security / privcy intrested friends have purchases it
& i see many people doing the same so it will be nice to see pure
    vpn support this routers

  49. PureVPN Team says:

    Hi,

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
Visit this link, insert router make and model if it shows any result then it is DD-WRT supported, if not then DD-WRT will not work on it. Latest Asus are good. Let me know if you still have any question or confusion.
I will be waiting for your response.
    Thanks!

  50. PureVPN Team says:

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching our to us. Yes it is, but we suggest you to get DD-WRT flashed router, that will give you choice of 2 protocols. Let me know if you need anything else 😉

  51. I am looking at the
TP-LINK Archer C7, is this compatible?

  52. Don MacLean says:

I am considering buying a Linksys E1200 router. Is this model compatible?

    • PureVPN Team says:

Yes, Linksys E1200 is supported. You can configure PPTP on it. We suggest you to buy DD-WRT configured router so you will be able to configure PPTP OR OpenVPN on it.
