PPTP Configuration Guide for Android Lollipop

Things to Consider:

Before you begin, please make sure that:

  • You have a working internet connection
  • An android device (Smartphone, Tablet etc.)
  • A Premium PureVPN account (if you haven’t bought yet click here to buy)

Please follow the step by step guide to setup PureVPN on your Android system manually. 

1 Tap on “Settings” 

2 Under “Settings”, tap “Connections”, then tap “More Connection Settings”


3 On the next window tap “VPN”

4 Under VPN, tap “Add VPN Network”

5 Enter “PureVPN” in the name field.

6 In “Type” choose your connection type PPTP.

7 Insert the following info:

  • In “Server address” insert your desired server address. Click here to get server list.
  • Uncheck the “PPP encryption (MPPE)” option and tap on “Save”

8 In this screen, tap “Purevpn PPTP VPN”

9 Put Your VPN Credentials (“Username” and “Password”) provided to you by an e-mail and tap on “Connect”

10 Congrats! You are now connected. Enjoy Pure Freedom!

    Thanks for reaching out to us. It will still remain protected and will provide you encryption upto 128 bit. But if you need more encryption then you are suggested to use our app which works with openvpn protocol and provides encryption upto 256 bit.

    Hello, I would like to know if, unchecking the PPE encryption option as suggested by this guide, the connection will be encrypted or not.

    No matter how many times I try this, using all the correct details I still get “Unsuccessful” when I try to log in! I even changed my password in case I was putting it in wrong, still no access!
