Setting up PureVPN on Windows was never this easy. Check out the configurtion guide for Windows 7 now!

Things to Consider:

Before you begin, please make sure that:

  • You have a working internet connection
  • Windows Supported Device.
  • A Premium PureVPN account (If you haven’t bought yet click here to buy)

1 Right click on “Lan / Wifi icon” from System tray and select “Open Network and Sharing Center”

2 Click on “Set up a new connection or network”

3 Select “Connect to workplace” and click Next

4 Select “Use my Internet connection (VPN)”

5 Insert the following info:

  • Insert desired server address. Click here to get the server list
  • Insert destination name as PureVPN PPTP or PureVPN US etc
  • Select “Allow other people to use this connection”
  • Select “Don’t connect now, just set it up so I can connect later” and click “Next”

6  Insert Username & Password provided by PureVPN.( Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username. )

  • Tick “Remember this password” and hit “Create”

7 Click on “Close”

8 Click on “Change adapter settings”

9 Right click on newly created VPN connection and go to “Properties”

10 Click on Security tab and select “Point to Point Tunneling protocol (PPTP)”

11 Select desired encryption from “Data encryption” drop down menu

12 Insert the following info:

  • Click on “Networking” tab
  • Uncheck “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” and “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks” then click “OK”

13 Right click on VPN connection and click “Connect” or simply double click on VPN Connection

14 Insert the following info:

  • Tick “Save this username and password for the following users and select “Me only” or “Anyone who uses this computer”
  • Insert password again provided by PureVPN
  • Click on “Connect”

15 VPN connection will be established after username and password verification

16 You are connected now.

17 Select Network Type as Public

18 Click on close and enjoy the Freedom!!!!!!!!!!

  • Select “Allow other people to use this connection”
  • Select “Don’t connect now, just set it up so I can connect later” and click “Next”

6 Insert the following info:

  • Insert Username & Password provided by PureVPN. (Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username.)
  • Tick “Remember this password” and hit “Create”

7 Click on “Close”

8 Click on Change adapter settings

9 Right click on newly created VPN connection and go to “Properties”

10 Click on Security tab and select “Layer 2 Tunneling protocol with IPsec (L2TP/IPsec)”

11 Click on Advance settings

12 Select “User Preshared key for authentication and insert “12345678”  in Key.

13 Insert the following info:

  • Select desired encryption from “Data encryption” drop down menu
  • For streaming purpose select “No encryption”

14 Insert the following info:

  • Click on “Networking” tab
  • Uncheck “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” and “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks” then click “OK”

15 Right click on VPN connection and click “Connect” or simply double click on VPN Connection.

16 Insert the following info:

  • Insert Username provided by PureVPN
  • Insert Password provided by PureVPN
  • Tick “Save this username and password for the following users and select “Me only” or “Anyone who uses this computer”
  • Click on “Connect”

17 VPN connection will be established after username and password verification

18 You are connected now.

19 Select Network Type as Public

  •     Tick “Remember this password” and hit “Create”

7 Click on “Close”

8 Click on “Change adapter settings”

10 Click on Security tab and select “Secure Socket Tunneling protocol (SSTP)”

11 Select desired encryption from “Data encryption” drop down menu

12 Insert the following info:

  •     Click on “Networking” tab
  •     Uncheck “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” and “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks” then click “OK”

13 Right click on VPN connection and click “Connect” or simply double click on VPN Connection

14 Insert the following info:

  • Tick “Save this username and password for the following users and select “Me only” or “Anyone who uses this computer”
  • Insert password again provided by PureVPN
  • Click on “Connect

  • Insert Username & Password provided by PureVPN (Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username.)
  • Tick “Remember this password” and hit “Create”

7 Click on “Close”

8 Click on “Change adapter settings”

9 Right click on newly created VPN connection and go to “Properties”

10 Click on Security tab and select “IKEv2”

11 Select “Optional encryption” from “Data encryption” drop down menu

12 Insert the following info:

  • Click on “Networking” tab
    Uncheck “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” and “File and Printer Sharing for
  • Microsoft Networks” then click “OK”

13 Right click on VPN connection and click “Connect” or simply double click on VPN Connection

14 Insert the following info:

  • Tick “Save this username and password for the following users” and select “Me only” or “Anyone who uses this computer”
  •  Insert password again provided by PureVPN
  • Click on “Connect”

15 VPN connection will be established after username and password verification

16 You are connected now.

17 Select Network Type as “Public Network”

18 Click on close and enjoy the Freedom!!!!!!!!!!

1 Click here to download PureVPN OpenVPN installer.

2 Right click on OpenVPN installer and select properties.

3 From General Tab, click on “Unblock”, “Apply” and “OK”

4 Right click on OpenVPN installer and select “Open” or Double click to execute

5 Click “Yes” to allow installation

6 Click “Next”

7 Click “I agree”

8 Click “Next”

9 Click “Install” to begin installation

10 Check “Always trust software from “GZ Systems Limited” and click Install

11 Click “Next” once installation completes

12 Uncheck “Show Readme” and click on Finish

Connecting PureOVPN:

13 Right click on OpenVPN GUI icon and “Run as Admin”

14 Click “Yes” to allow application to run

15 Right click on OpenVPN icon from System tray, go to desired server and select “Connect”

16 Insert Username and Password provided by PureVPN.( Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username. )

17 VPN will establish connection in few seconds

18 You are connected now. Select Network location as Public.

19 Click on “Close” and Enjoy the Freedom!!!!!!!!!!!

20 To disconnect OpenVPN. Right click on OpenVPN Icon from System tray, go to connected server and select “Disconnect”

Saving account details:

21 Right click on OpenVPN Icon from system tray, go to desired server and select Edit Config

22 Add pass.conf after auth-user-pass parameter and save

23 Open notepad and insert Username in first line and password in second line then save it as pass.conf

24 Open folder where you save the file, click on Tools menu and select Folder options

25 Click on View tab and uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types, click “Apply” and “OK”

26 Right click on pass.conf.txt file and rename it

27 From pass.conf.txt, remove .txt, hit enter and click on “Yes”

28 Open OpenVPN installation folder (C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config) and drag / copy pass.conf file in config folder

29 Click “Continue” to copy file

Note: Repeat Step 21 and 22 to edit all servers
Step21: Right click on OpenVPN Icon from system tray, go to desired server and select Edit Config
Step22: Add pass.conf after auth-user-pass parameter and save

    Is there any way for it to stay connected even after a restart of the pc ??? Or do i have to conect it myself every time?
