How to Setup PureVPN Manually on Windows 7 (L2TP) ?

Starting June 15th, 2021, PureVPN will discontinue offering support for PPTP, L2TP, and SSTP protocols on the majority of VPN locations.

Things to Consider:

Before you begin, please make sure that:

  • You have a working internet connection
  • Windows Supported Device.
  • A Premium PureVPN account (If you haven’t bought yet click 👉here to buy)
Find your VPN credentials for manual configuration.

To find your VPN credentials log into the PureVPN members area. Click 👉 here to visit member area.

  • Login to the member area using your PureVPN registered email address and password.

  • From manage account section, go to the subscriptions tab.

  • On Subscription tab scroll down to be able to view your VPN credentials

  • You will be able to see and copy your VPN credentials.
  • Note down your PureVPN username and click the Eye icon to make your password visible and use it in the manual configuration.

How to connect PureVPN manually on Windows 7.

Watch how you can configure PureVPN on Windows 7 L2TP:

  • Right-click Lan/ Wifi icon from System tray and select Open Network and Sharing Center.

  • Click Set up a new connection or network.

Click on "Set up a new connection or network"

  • Select Connect to a workplace and click Next.

Select "Connect to workplace" and click Next

  • Select Use my internet connection (VPN).

  • Insert the following info:
    1. Insert the desired server: Please refer to the server address shared in the above note.
    2. Insert destination name as PureVPN L2TP.
    3. Select Allow other people to use this connection.
    4. Select Don’t connect now, just set it up so I can connect later and click Next.

  • Enter your PureVPN credentials. Here is how you can find your 👉VPN credentials.
  • Mark check Remember this password and hit Create.

Insert your Username and Password provided by PureVPN. Tick “Remember this password“ Click on “Create

  • Click Close.

  • Click Change adapter settings.

  • Right click newly created VPN connection and go to Properties.

  • Click Security tab and select Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol with IPsec (L2TP/IPsec).

  • Click Advanced Settings.

Click on Advance settings

  • Select Use Pre-shared key for authentication and insert 12345678 in key.

Select "User Preshared key for authentication and insert "12345678"  in Key.

  • Select desired encryption from Data encryption drop-down menu.
  • For streaming purpose select Optional encryption.
  • Click Networking Tab.
  • Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/ IPV6) and File and printer sharing for microsoft network then click OK.

  • Right click VPN connection and click Connect or simply double click VPN connection.

  • Tick Save this username and password for the following users and select Me only or anyone who uses this computer.
  • Insert VPN password again.
  • Click Connect.

  • VPN connection will be established after username and password verification.

  • You are now connected.

  • Select network type as Public.
