Unable to Connect to the Proxy Server

If you’re encountering the “Unable to connect to the proxy server” error while trying to connect to PureVPN, then you should consider changing the proxy settings of your browser.

Kindly follow the steps below:

Google ChromeMozilla Firefox Internet Explorer

1 Click on Menu and select Settings.

2 Click on Search box and type Proxy then click on Change proxy settings.

3 Select PureVPN and click on Settings

4 Select Automatically detect settings, uncheck Use automatic configuration script and uncheck Proxy server then hit OK

5 Click on LAN settings

6 Select Automatically detect settings, uncheck Use automatic configuration script and uncheck Proxy server then hit OK and OK again

Now connect VPN and everything should work fine now.

1 Click on Menu from top and select Options

2 Click on Advanced then click on Network Tab and click on Settings.

3 Select Auto-detect proxy settings for this network and hit OK and OK again.

Now connect VPN and everything should work fine now.

1 Click on Start and select Control Panel

2 From Control Panel, click on Internet Options.

3 Select PureVPN and click on Settings

4 Select Automatically detect settings, uncheck Use automatic configuration script and uncheck Proxy server then hit OK

5 Click on LAN settings

6 Select Automatically detect settings, uncheck Use automatic configuration script and uncheck Proxy server then hit OK and OK again

Now connect VPN and everything should work fine now.

  2. Hi, i read a review in vpn-providers, that the only way of be secure in web browsers it’s launching it by the purevpn program. ¿You fix the firefox launch or still unable?
    Also a restriction in p2p is of upload or download? ¿I can use torrents like i want?

    Or all what i have to do, it’s turn on, connect and enjoy without think?

    I am sorry for the inconvenience. I would suggest you to change network DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
    and that should resolve the issue. If you have not changed DNS before then this tutorial will help you

    I am currently unable to connect. I am on a mac running 10.11.4. In firefox i did enable auto detect proxy settings but i cannot pull up webpages still. What do i do?

    Thanks for reaching out to us. You need to enter server address in “Internet address” field, you can enter any server mentioned on this page https://support.purevpn.com/vpn-servers and in destination name you may enter anything like PureVPN PPTP.

    am using google chrome and on step 3 it says to select purevpn, but the box is empty/blank if I click on add vpn, What is the Internet address? and Destination name I should enter? Note I have a TP-Link router and windows 10

    I would suggest you to check all the extensions you have installed and find out which extension is related to Proxy, Anonymity etc. and uninstall it. I wish i could give you exact answer, but i do not know what extensions you have installed, so i cannot be specific.

    For Firefox: You can go to Tools>Options>Advance> Network>Settings>Auto Detect Proxy settings for this Network.
