How to Setup PureVPN PPTP on Kubuntu

If you want to set up PureVPN on Kubuntu using the PPTP protocol, you can do so in a few steps by checking out the following guide:

1 Click on “Networks” Icon and select the “Configure Network selection” option.

2 Click on the ‘+’ icon to add a VPN connection.

3 Now Enter the following details:

  • Insert desired server address in “Gateway” (Here we use usca.pointtoserver.com)
  • Click here for more server addresses.
  • Insert Username provided by PureVPN
  • Insert Password provided by PureVPN
  • Click on “Advanced

4 Select the following options:

  • Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE)

Uncheck the following:

  • Uncheck EAP
  • Uncheck CHAP
  • Uncheck PAP
  • Allow BSD data compression
  • Allow Deflate data compression
  • Use TCP header compression
  • Click “OK

5  Click “Save” and then “Apply” button respectively.

6  Now Click on “Networks“ Icon and select the newly created VPN connection, click on “Connect” button to connect to PureVPN.

7 You are successfully connected to VPN now!

8 Click on the ‘Disconnect’ option to disconnect/terminate the VPN connection.
