How to Setup PureVPN Manually on iPhone OpenVPN?

Things to consider:

  1. You have a working internet connection
  2. iOS device (iPhone/iPad).
  3. A Premium PureVPN account (If you havenโ€™t bought yet click ๐Ÿ‘‰ here to buy)

In this tutorial you will learn how to setup OpenVPN manual configuration on iOS device using PureVPN.

Find your VPN credentials for manual configuration.

To find your VPN credentials log into the PureVPN members area. Click ๐Ÿ‘‰ here to visit member area.

  • Login to the Member area using your PureVPN registered email address and password.
  • From manage account section, go to the Subscriptions tab.
  • On Subscription tab scroll down to be able to view your VPN credentials
  • You will be able to see and copy your VPN credentials.
  • Note down your PureVPN username and click the Eye icon to make your password visible and use it in the manual configuration.
Downloading the OpenVPN Application.
  • Search for OpenVPN Connect on App store and download the application.
  • Or click ๐Ÿ‘‰ here to download the app
  • Once Application is downloaded successfully OpenVPN icon will appear on the screen.
Downloading OpenVPN Files.
  • You may proceed to download the recommended OpenVPN files for iOS from this ๐Ÿ‘‰ link.
  • Once the files are downloaded, please open the downloaded files.
  • Click the downloaded files to Extract them.
  • Open the files and choose your desired server location by tapping on it.
  • Tap on the Sharing icon in the bottom-left corner.
  • You will see a list of default apps where you can share the file. If you see the OpenVPN app icon there, tap On it.
  • After that, the imported configuration file will appear in the OpenVPN app.
Connecting the VPN.
  • Click Add below the imported profile.
  • Enter PureVPN credentials and click ADD.
  • Do not confuse PureVPN credentials with your regular credentials (email address and password) that you use to log into the PureVPN applications and member area. If you’re not sure what credentials to use, refer to this ๐Ÿ‘‰ link.
  • Allow OpenVPN to add VPN configurations. This is necessary for OpenVPN to be able to create and manage the VPN tunnel on your device.
  • You will see the connection status on the homepage of the OpenVPN app.
  • You can quickly disconnect/reconnect to the VPN by toggling the green switch that you see at the top of your screen.
