How to Setup PPTP on TP-Link Archer

Follow this step-by-step guide to setup PureVPN on your TP-Link Archer router using PPTP protocol.

1 To start set up VPN on TP-Link router you first have to connect to it. For that you have to put in your browser the following address: http://192.168.0.1 (If this doesn’t work, please consult your router’s manual to find what is the Default Gateway Address). Enter your router’s password and click Log In.

2 Once you are logged in then select the “Advanced” option.

3 Under Advanced select Network option, then go to Internet tab.

4 Choose PPTP from Connection Type drop-down menu.

5 Now enter the following information:

  • Username: (Enter the PureVPN usernamee. purevpn0sxxx)
  • Password: (Enter the PureVPN password)
  • Secondary Connection: Dynamic IP
  • VPN Server IP/Domain Name: (Enter the IP address of the VPN server you want to connect to in this field. Click here on how to convert server address into IP address.
  • MTU Size: 1420
  • Connection Mode: Manually
  • Max Idle Time: 0

6 Once you have entered all the information, Click on “Connect” button to activate the VPN connection.

7 PureVPN is successfully connected now on your TP-Link Archer series router.
