How to setup SSTP on Xubuntu

If you want to set up PureVPN on Xubuntu using the SSTP protocol, you can do so in a few steps by checking out the following guide:

Things to Consider:

Before you begin, please make sure that:

  • You have a working internet connection
  • Linux Xubuntu device
  • A Premium PureVPN account (if you haven’t bought it yet, click here to buy)
1 Go to the “Launcher option and select/open the “Terminal Emulator” from there.

2 Now you need to install SSTP packages. Type the following commands one by one:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:eivnaes/network-manager-sstp

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install sstp-client

sudo apt-get install network-manager-sstp

sudo apt-get install network-manager-sstp-gnome

3 Click on “Network” option and then select “Edit Connections…” option.

4 Click on the ‘+’ icon to add a VPN connection and select ‘Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (SSTP)’ from the drop-down list and click on the “Create” button.

5 Insert the following info:

  • Insert Connection name: PureVPN
  • Insert Gateway: usca.pointtoserver.com (Here we use usca.pointtoserver.com you can also use your desired server address, click here for more server addresses.)
  • Insert Username and Password provided by PureVPN (For further instructions on how to check your active PureVPN username and password click here.)
  • Ignore Certificate Warnings: Checked

6 Click on “Save” and close the “Network Connections” window.

7 Now click the “Network” Icon, go the “VPN Connections” tab and click on the newly created VPN connection, to connect to PureVPN.

8 You are connected to PureVPN now!
