Once you’ve successfully purchased an eSIM plan via the PureVPN app or website, it’s time to install it on your device.
You can complete the installation directly within the app - no complicated setup or extra tools required.
Installing PureVPN eSIM
- After a successful purchase, you’ll see your recently purchased plan marked as Ready to Activate.
- A short coach mark tour will guide you through your eSIM options.

You can always skip the tour if you’re familiar with the setup - just tap Skip Tour and continue directly to installation.
Choose an Installation Method
PureVPN offers two easy ways to install your eSIM, depending on your device and preference:

You can install your eSIM before you travel, but it will only activate and start working once you arrive at your destination or the country where your plan is valid.
Option A: Automatic Method (Recommended)
- Tap Install eSIM.
- Tap Set Up Automatically when prompted.
- Wait for your device to automatically configure the eSIM. Once installed, you’ll see a message - eSIM installed successfully. (eSIM iOS users will be directed to their general settings, where they can follow the on-screen instructions to install the eSIM)
Option B: Manual Method
- If you’d like to set up your eSIM on a secondary device or prefer the manual setup method, you can do so directly from the app by tapping Use Other Methods.
- There, you’ll see two options - you can either scan the QR code shown in the app or download and send the code to that device.
- Or, for devices that do not support automatic installation or QR code scanning, open your eSIM plan in the PureVPN app. Tap Manual Setup and copy the provided SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code.
- On your phone, go to Settings → Connection → SIM Manager → eSIMs → Add eSIM manually. (Note: The exact menu names may vary depending on your device)
- Paste the SM-DP+ address and Activation Code in the respective fields.
- Save the settings to complete activation.
Verify Installation
- Once the eSIM is installed, go back to the eSIM screen in the app:
- Plans that are successfully installed will display Active.
- If your plan hasn’t been used yet, it will show Ready to Activate.
- Expired plans are listed under Archived Plans.
Manage and Reorder Plans
- Tap any active plan to view its details, remaining data, and validity.
- If a plan has expired, you can tap Order Again to repurchase it directly from the same screen.
