VPN Error: Connection Timeout

The following tutorial will help you understand and avoid the connection timeout error you face while using PureVPN.

Common Cause:

The protocol you are using has been blocked by your ISP, router, system’s firewall, etc.

Possible Solutions:

1 Switch your VPN protocol and try to connect

2 Disable the antivirus or firewall installed on your system and try to connect

3 Change the DNS of your network and try to connect

4 Check for blocked ports which could be cause. In order to check them, please refer to the steps below:

  • Download the TCP listener from the link https://www.allscoop.com/dotnet-software/tcp-listen.php
  • Connect your VPN to any desired location. If you’re already connected to VPN, kindly disconnect it and then connect it, so the port settings may apply.
  • Enter the port no# on the TCP listener app and then press Listen Button.
  • Now, open any listening site and check the status of the ports from there.
