Set Up PureVPN with OpenVPN on QNAP QTS v4.3+

You can now set up and configure PureVPN with OpenVPN on QNAP QTS vs 4.3 and higher. Just follow the steps mentioned in this guide.

Things to Consider:

  1. You have a working internet connection
  2. QNAP QTS v4.3+ Supported Device.
  3. A Premium PureVPN account (If you haven’t bought yet click πŸ‘‰ here to buy)
Find your VPN credentials for manual configuration.

To find your VPN credentials log into the PureVPN members area. Click πŸ‘‰ here to visit member area.

  • Login to the Member area using your PureVPN registered email address and password.
  • From manage account section, go to the Subscriptions tab.
  • On Subscription tab scroll down to be able to view your VPN credentials
  • You will be able to see and copy your VPN credentials.
  • Note down your PureVPN username and click the Eye icon to make your password visible and use it in the manual configuration.
How to connect PureVPN manually on QNAP QTS v4.3+
  • Download PureVPN Config Files for OpenVPN TCP and UDP from πŸ‘‰ here.
  • On your QNAP web interface, open the App Center and search for and App QVPN Service and install it.
  •  In QVPN Service, select VPN Connection Profiles under VPN Client. After that, select OpenVPN.
  • This will open a file picker dialogue box. Go to those .ovpn files which you have downloaded in step 1 and select your desired server location file, for example, Australia-UDP
  •  Enter your PureVPN Username and PureVPN Password. Click Apply.

Note: You may also find an option to Use default gateway on remote network. Enable it and Apply settings.

  •  Your VPN profile has been created. Click the Connect button. Wait for a few seconds, and the status indicator will turn to green once connected successfully.

Upon successful connection, the Status tab will turn green as shown in the image below.
