The Miscellaneous section covers all general questions related to your eSIM purchase, usage, and management. These are helpful if you’ve already set up your eSIM and want to understand its lifecycle, usage, and policies.

eSIM Validity & Expiry

  • Your eSIM plan becomes active when you arrive at your destination and connect to a supported network.
  • The validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) starts from the first purchase date.
  • When the data limit or validity expires, the plan moves to Archived Plans.

Checking Data Usage

You can track your real-time data usage right inside the app:

  • Open PureVPN → eSIM → My Plans → My Details. 
  • Tap the active plan to view data consumed, remaining balance, and days left.

Security & Privacy

PureVPN ensures your eSIM data remains completely secure.

  • All activation codes are encrypted and device-specific.
  • eSIM connections are provided by local network partners. For enhanced security and privacy, we recommend enabling your PureVPN connection while using the eSIM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pause my eSIM plan?

No. Once activated, the plan runs continuously until its validity or data limit expires.

Can I use hotspot/tethering with my eSIM?

Yes. Most eSIM plans support hotspot and data sharing. You can connect multiple devices using your PureVPN eSIM data.

Can I move my eSIM to another phone?

No, our application does not support multiple eSIMs or transferring an eSIM to another device.

Does eSIM work globally?

Yes. Each plan covers its listed country or region, with automatic connectivity to local partner networks for consistent coverage.

What happens when my plan expires?

The plan moves to Archived Plans and becomes inactive. You can tap Order Again to repurchase the same plan anytime.

My eSIM shows installed but not connecting to the internet.

  • Ensure Mobile Data is turned on for your eSIM.
  • Make sure you are currently in the region where your plan is valid or was purchased.
  • Verify that the correct eSIM is selected for data in your Cellular/Mobile Data settings.
  • Restart your device.

QR code won't scan

  • Check that your device's camera is clean and in good condition.
  • Make sure the QR code is in focus and your area is well-lit.
  • If using a physical QR code, ensure it is not damaged or distorted.

Manual setup failed

  • Verify that you have entered the SM-DP+ Address and Activation code correctly.
  • Restart your device and try again.
