How to Setup PPTP Manually on Linux ?

Simply follow these steps to configure PureVPN manually on Linux:

1 Click on the Network Manager Icon at the top, click on VPN Connections and Configure VPN.

2 When the VPN Connection window is displayed, click on Add to create the new connection

3 Ensure the connection type is PPTP and click Create.

4 Do the following:

  • In the gateway field, enter one of the PureVPN servers address, Click here to get the server list.
  • Enter your PureVPN user-name and password
  • Click ‘Save’
    ( Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username. )

5  Do the following:

  • Select the option of MSCHAPv2. Check the box labeled Use Point to Point encryption (PPTP) and then click OK.
  • Click OK again to save the VPN.

6  Do the following:

  • Click on the Network Manager Icon again
  • Select VPN Connections and click on the new connection of PureVPN.

7 You will notice an icon in the task bar indicating that the VPN is now connected.
