Whenever you try to log into your Gmail account from a different IP then your usual one, the attempt will be blocked because it will be considered as a suspicious login try. To resolve this issue, log into your account at https://mail.google.com and search for the suspicious login email. Click on the given link and search for a message containing:

“If this was you, and you are having trouble accessing your account, complete the troubleshooting steps listed at http://support.google.com/mail?p=client_login“.

Click the link and follow steps 3 & 4 on the next page.

If the issue is still not resolved, visit http://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

Sign-in with your Gmail account, follow the captcha and click continue. Follow the steps 3 & 4 and skip all the other steps.

Whenever you use a VPN server, this procedure is likely to occur repeatedly until Gmail remembers the IPs that you use frequently.
