Location services can pinpoint your location through different ways. If you want to stay anonymous, you should disable your location services. Here is how to do it:

Turn Location Services Off in Your Browser

Go to the browser settings and look for ‘location services’.

Turn off GPS and Location Services on your iPhone/iPad

 It is important to know how to rapidly enable or disable all GPS/location services on your iPhone or any other iOS device.

Follow these steps for all the iPad apps:

1 Go to ‘Settings’

2 Now the ‘General’ preferences will be automatically selected (if it doesn’t. tap on ‘General’ in the left pane).

3 Now see that a ‘Location Services’ entry in the third group of options. Here there is an On/Off switch. It is set on ‘On’ as default.

4 Turn it off and disable GPS and location services. Simply tap once on the switch to do that.

Turn Off Location Services On Mac OS X

In order to disable the Location Services in Mac OS X, please follow these steps:

  1. Bring up System Preferences from the menu.
  2. From the View menu, choose Security.
  3. Click the ‘General’ tab.
  4. If the icon in the lower-left corner is locked, click it to authenticate. You will need to enter your Admin Password here.
  5. Click the ‘Disable Location Services’ checkbox.

Your Location Services have been disabled on Mac.

Turn Off Location Services Of Your Router

Google maps your router’s location so that other services can access it for various purposes. Since you don’t wish for that to happen anymore, add ‘_nomap’ (without quotes) to the SSID of router and your location services will be disabled on the router. Here’s a detailed blog post on this:
